The tea tradition :
In 1970 John Harney and an associate bought a tea company
from an old man, a tea specialist, called Stanley. For years Stanley
taught John the secrets of fine tea. He taught him that the longest
tea leaves make the better tea. He also convinced him that if he wanted
to make tea sachets, he had to do only the best! That’s why the sachets
made by Harney and Sons contain longer leaves.
John founded his own company in 1983 and gave the tea industry a
real kick. His idea was to sell quality tea at a price that would
make it
an everyday luxury. Soon, famous hotels like the Ritz Carlton and
gourmet shops like Williams Sonoma discovered his teas. The satisfied
consumers
started to appeal to Harney and Sons and a minor revolution began.
“Tea” means a lot to many people; from black teas to herbal teas or even iced teas. Our goal is to be the best when it comes to
the kind
of tea you prefer.
Our tea is always fresh thanks to the large quantities we deliver
to hotels and gourmet shops.
London's Top Tea Award :
Harney & Sons Fine Teas is the house tea of London’s elite Dorchester Hotel that has received the Top London Afternoon Tea Award 2007 - 2008. The Top London Afternoon Tea Award is the “Oscar” of the tea world awarded by the United Kingdom Tea Council based on range and quality of teas offered as well as service, décor, and value for money.
